Curst Bradford Spencer & Alex Adolphsen bsp1024@protonmail.com Completed 10/30/2012 Notes: Most of the influences for these maps are from doom2 map14, mordeth (big time), Anders' + Malde's AV maps, Richard Wiles maps, and iori's Dripfeed. The goal was to avoid silly detailing, and focus on megalithic structures and vistas. I largely failed, but got some interesting results at least. Map01: The intention here was a small, open, somewhat easy, but creepy midnight environment for the player to just explore. I hope it's fun! Map02: An experiment in mapping without the use of the grid. Sorry for that, it has the end result of bad player/monster collision. The idea here was similar to the first map, small + exploration-y, but perhaps more brutal. =========================================================================== Vitals: Replaces : Doom2, MAP01-MAP02 Port : Boom compatable port Boom itself might crash due to the music lump. If so just try -nomusic, otherwise try a port that is still being managed (prboom+ zdoom, etc.) Single Player : Yes Cooperative 2-4 Player : Supported, but untested Deathmatch 2-4 Player : No Difficulty Settings : Recommend HMP for a typical Doom experience, UV is more of a survival/conservation difficulty. Sounds : Some from Heretic/Hexen Music : by Alex Adolphsen using samples from freesound.org Graphics : Sky from doom64, other graphics from GothicDM and Heretic/Hexen. Cliche but I don't care. Dehacked/BEX Patch : Yes, some subtle changes (like hanging decorations won't block player, lost soul height more in line with its sprite) Bugs : The "voodoo doll" scripts that happen offscreen may behave slightly differently depending on which sourceport you use, mainly in the timing that things happen. Thanks : The authors of the various tools I used; DoomBuilder, Slade3, Whacked2, paint.net, Everyone who tested and gave comments Alex Adolphsen, Karthik Abhiram, thp, Zhaytee doomworld forum guys: Phml, DeathevokatioN, EarthQuake, NoobBait, ArmouredBlood, Megamur, Memfis Dedicated to Espi + Mutator.
