I am sad to announce that his sister [S] Thunder passed away this morning. Dwango United sends out their sincerest sympathies to vampy and his family. I had the pleasure of knowing her and playing her and she was a great person to know. I am saddened to hear of the events that happened. Please do not let this topic go astray and show some respect for vampy when you see him. I am at a loss of this tragic news but Thunder will always be in my memories as well.

I'm very shocked and sad at this news. I got to know Thunder quite well in the short time she has been among us here in zdaemon. I'll miss her terribly. Our thoughts and prayers are with Vampy, Niv and the rest of her family.

I didn't know thunder very well. I'd played a few games with her and talked a few times on IRC.. but I never really got the chance to know her. the same can be said for niv.

however, vampy has been like my best friend on zdaemon since I first started playing. ...the worst part about internet friendships is that you can never truly be there in each other's time of need. luckily, vampy's a tough one. he'll be strong enough to pull himself and his family through this.

<vampy> just dont forget to say "i love you" to your family guys
<vampy> makes alot of difference
<vampy> takes no time at all

probably the most positive thing that can be taken from all this... but at the same time, probably one of the hardest lessons that can ever be learned.

We never even finished ultimate doom episode one together. She never even played ultimate doom until our coop time. She was the only one who would spend hours late at night playing tlsd2004 with me. She never even cared that I was beating her...she was just there to play...no strings attached...

Oh god, why did it have to be now?

I only knew her for such a short time and yet it feels like i've known her for so long...

I knew her since Feb, and she never sounded like there was anything wrong, especially when she had so much going for her. I still remember that first game I played with her on udm3 and how it changed my playing style, plus the many practice games on the same map for the March tourneys. (she really trained hard for that)

A good player, a good friend (and she even thought my accent was hot Shocked

), you'll be sorely missed.

Sympathies go out to Vampy, Niv and all her friends and family, I know you must be feeling terrible right now.

My condolences. You wonder why these things happen to people like her. While I never knew her, she sounded like a very special person. Vampy, Niv, a person is defined not on how they act during the best of times but how they act during the worst and you've show great character. i know most people who were close to rachel arent wanting to or expecting to hear from me.. but i'm really sorry for the loss.. and it was a loss. I know nearing the past few months, she and i didnt get along, honestly i believe because we were so much alike.. and i feel terrible that that fued could never be fully resolved.. because truth is i really liked rachel. and i cried when i found out she passed. she was funny and knew how to joke around and i feel terrible that i couldnt take advantage of being near someone in the world that cool. I know she's in a greater place now, and i offer my sincere condolences to her, her family, friends and niv. i couldnt imagine how hard this must be. if there's anything i can do, just let me know.

How about us dedicating this tournament in memory of her? From what i hear she was in it.. and i think it would be a nice gesture to know she isn't and won't be forgotten.

Words cannot express what I am feeling now. She was a very nice person to me and always wanted to play a game with anyone no matter how good they were. She just wanted to learn. I'll always have the memory of her asking me to teach her my rocket tricks and us going at it game after game after game. She will always be remembered in my heart as SD-Star.

To Niv....
I am sure you are hurt over this tragic loss, but keep your head up and know that she will always be with you.

To Vampy....
Know that your older sister is looking down on her baby brother now and you have a new gaurdian angel to watch over you and your baby. Keep the memory of her alive in you and keep thinking of all the great times you had together and she will be even more closer to you than ever..

Vampy, My heart is out to you dude. I can only imagine how devastating this event must be for you, your family and niv. I was privilaged enough to speak to thunder on the phone on several occasions, and her personality and warmth shined through the moment she began to talk. She was kind enough to let me join her in the storm clan, and was also a honorary member of sin. she trained my fiance' babypink when she first started playing. She was an awesome freind and will be missed by everyone, but never forgotten.

I feel deeply sorry about this. I have been there Niv, finding a love and having it ripped away in no time, no time at all. I was so sad that I was puking all over the place, so terrible.

Never knew Thunder, but I did get to play against Vampy a few times.

I believe my first 1v1 match versus anyone other than Shakal and my other RL friends was against Vampy. And he slaughtered me madly. I respect that.

Hopefully that skill ran in the family, and by the sounds of it, it did. I salute a fallen comrade and fellow Zdaemon player.

This is very sad news. I've only talked to her once before our tourney match we got to know each other well a little bit lol here and a lol there. but i am terribly sorry about this and i give my condolences to both vampy and niv these are tought times but we have to cheer up she is in a better place now looking down at us and protecting us. May god bless vampy's and niv's family and to thunder...R.I.P and god speed

Actually, I wasn't acquainted with Thunder at all, but still I would like to express my condolences and my sympathies to all who knew her, especially to her family and her closest friends. Sad

To Niv and Vampy,

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Life can be cruel, unjustified and sometimes the worst happens to the best people. Words can't describe how this has affected everyone in the community, including myself. As you may know I'm not active here anymore but this is the least I can do to offer my condolences. Rest assured, Thunder will never be forgotton in this part of her life.

Really sad news, my condolences to Vampy, Niv and all others that were close to Thunder. I didn't know her, but from all this posts I can see she was really nice person.

this is on behalf of JohnnyBlaze; he asked me to post it since he can't.

ya i knew vampy for a while he was pretty cool but we didnt really get along too well but still losing someone is harder then imaginable. i lost 3 people this year all in the same month and i thought my insides were gonna die. hard to think about what life for his is going to be like after he lost someone that close but he'll get by. for the short time i knew his on doom he seemed like a strong good willed person. so vampy sorry for you loss

You don't know me Vampy but I remember playing on some maps with ya and ya seemed to be good... Anyways, yeah, sorry to hear about ya sis even though I never seen her play or anything.

Dear Zdaemon,

I've never posted in the forums before, but I would like to thank everyone for their support. Zdaemon was a big part of Rachel's life, and I know alot of you were her good friends. She had some rough times the past few months, and I know many of you helped her through them. I'd especially like to thank Daniel ([s]tornado) and [s]lightning, Trigger, the [sin] clan, and I'm sure there are countless others. I apologize for any names I left out.

I'm sort of at a loss for words. This is the worst thing that has ever happened in my life. And I know it's even harder on vampy, and her parents. She was the greatest person I ever knew. So kind, generous, beautiful, intelligent, and funny. She was the embodiment of every trait that makes a person good. To me, she was perfect. And I know I'll never find someone like her again.

But to be consumed by grief and to some degree anger for losing her is selfish. Although she was young, she was in a considerable amount of pain, both physically and psychologically (although this was improving rapidly). She is in a better place now and we should be happy about
that. She will never have to feel that pain again.

Ah.. I did not know thunder at all... I played vampy in a few (excellent) rounds of judas23.. so I merely (somewhat) know him.
But il say this, dealing with the loss of a loved one is hard, I hope you and your family can pull through this tragic event.

when reading through this thread, I do not think I saw what really happened to her, would anyone mind enlightening us?

Ack this is painful news indeed. I was at the point where I was playing Thunder in the "friends of [s]clan" server nearly daily. She was a very skilled player, she kicked my butt (to no surprise). I am going to miss playing against her a lot.
I know it doesnt mean a lot coming from me, but I felt I had to post to tell you how much I, no how much WE will miss thunder. I am truely sorry Vampy, my deepest condolences to you, your family and everyone close to Thunder.
She may be gone here, but I am positive she has found peace. I am just happy I was able to know her.
